Impatiens

Hi,

Sorry this is not wintersowing related, but I have only posted here in the past, and I know this gets read more often than the impatiens forum so...

Does anyone have experience with returning plants to Lowes?

I bought four flats of impatiens on the 23rd of April, but it's been raining so much that we haven't gotten a chance to get them in the ground. They are set out on the patio now in their flats and they are showing signs of black spot or some other fungal infection.

Could this be a cause of too much rain - or did they come like this?

And I'm just going by that commercial that says they guarantee their plants for 1 yr. I have the receipt - will they take them back?

If they do I'm still in need of a few flats of impatiens - or other flowers that will provide color and fullness to a shady bed - should I get them somewhere else & how do I prevent future infection?

thanks a bunch - Jess

P.S. - to keep it on topic, I did wintersow some impatiens, but they did not come up. I only have zinnia, marigold, and alyssum :( But I did find that clear plastic 20 oz cups from the coffee shop were the best containers for me.
