A Nice Surprise

In 2009 I winter sowed two different packs of lily seeds I received in seed swaps. I only had one sprout in each milk jug. I saw in the morning I had a bud on one of the lilies. It looked like it would bloom yellow or gold. This is what I found last evening. Excuse the pea vines. With all our rain I have a jungle.

Love it!! I wanted to also let you know the yellow scabiosa is coming along nicely. I have it planted with my tn coneflower, siberian wall flower, and lupinus perrenis. I can't wait to show you pictures of a bloom!!

That is a lovely daylily. I am partial to the ones that are ruffled.

I have lots of daylilies, but have never tried wintersowing them. That one sure looks like it was worth the wait though! One of my favorite colors.
