Great shot and love the bee balm, I only have the red. I thought I WS coral last year, but if I did, it hasn't bloomed yet.

Aren't those bizarre? The first time I saw one I thought it was a hummingbird, and the antennae weren't quite making sense. About dark or at least well into dusk, and I think it may have even been slightly larger than most hummingbirds I have feeding here.

The things our gardens have to offer :) Great photos, nice job with the camera!

Love those little creatures! I find them great for photography - they aren't shy.

Lovely picture. I thought they were queen bees!?

I love hummingbird moths! I have seen them on my monarda this year. Two years ago they really liked the petunias.

Some years back, I was sitting out on the terrace one night (when I still had chairs out there) and looked up and saw this "thing" hovering over the windowbox of petunias. Had no idea what it was, but I scurried back inside.

Now that I've seen pics of them, I do believe it was a hummingbird moth that I saw. Never saw one again, though.

Great shots! Sure startled me the first time I saw one a few years ago sipping nectar from a lily not long after I got my first digital camera. Now when I see them, I just watch and enjoy. They've been on my meadow sage and mallow this year so far but even with camera in hand, they moved too quick for me to catch a clear shot. I WS monarda/bee balm last year so I'll have to keep a close eye out for those little guys.
