Nasturtiums- can I lob off the runners?

I accidentally planted some form of vining nasty in my veggie patch surrounding my strawberries. HUGE runners going all over. Any issues with lobbing these off, or will the plant get pi$$y if I do? The plant is too huge for the area (oops; won't do that again), but I'll leave it unless it decides to take over completely. Nice, brightly colored blooms. I see there's a "Jewel" one that sounds familiar, but that descr says it's a dwarf. There's "Amazon Jewel" that fits the descr more accurately, but I don't remember the term "Amazon" on the packet. I'll have to look when I get home.

Oh, and for the record, the "creamsicle" variety that I planted next to this monster nasty are doing fabulous! Color is very nice! Exactly like this pic from Renee's garden, and very small & compact:

I've had Nasturtium that vined but runners are vines that root where they touch the soil...as in strawberries :)
I don't think you need worry too much about your strawberries. I have strawberries planted with sedums that root where it touches the soil and the strawberries find their way up and through those with no problems. I pick strawberries daily.

Actually, the strawberries are fine...I guess I was mostly just concerned with aesthetics here, since the nasties are meandering into the path, as well as in/around the strawberries.

I cut my nasturtium vines back. They are trailing out of my whiskey barrels and wind up lying on my deck floor, which gets really really hot. So I figured they wouldn't survive anyway. After you cut them, they just grow back from another shoot, so keep after em!

The deer trim them regularly here, doesn't hurt them a bit and they still bloom till frost.

I've cut them back when they've spread far enough to begin interferring with lawn mowing and turning the vine back inward on itself is no longer working...some years they are just a little too happy, grow too well.

If it does not bother your other plants, I would leave it alone. Have you seen pictures of Giverny, Claude Monet's garden? He let his Nasturtium meander. The most spectacular sight.

I have 'Alaska' in a Hay Rack this year. I know I've grown it before but I never had it vine like this. It was reaching the ground so I just twined it up and wove it through two pickets of the fence the Hay Rack is on and it is looking so lush. It is blooming on the back side of the fence now and looking lovely.

It's been a "bloom/grow crazy" year for nasties in the northeast with all our rain. I have cut off runners that have gone into my front path to the house and the plant looks fine. (Mahogany)

When I visited the garden this morning I am noticing the my "Alaska" is starting to peter out a bit. It has bloomed wildly since late May (one of the very few annuals that did), so no complaints. I think it's not really enjoying our recent heat.
