| I purchased my orginal plant from a women who sells "chunks" of her home garden perennials from a stand in front of her house. I collected seed that year (3-4 years ago?) and winter sowed successfully. The orginal and the now full sized WSed plants have reseeded (sometimes toooo much, but easy to pull) about the yard. I love it for shady spots - brings color and thrives. It gets a flower spray (a little like "Jewels of Opar" if you've seen that)that looks like tiny red balls in the fall.
I'll collect a ton of seed in the fall. If anyone would like some, email me and send me a SABE.

| I love it, but haven't been able to get it to wintersow here yet. Maybe I will send an envelope to you in the fall! |

Nancy, I would love whatever seed you have to spare. I just updated my trade list, so see if I have anything you'd like in return. I have a large, shady yard that has a lot of open areas that I'll like to fill with natives and easy ground covers. I WS'd some Pesicaria and it's beautiful. I'll try to collect my own this year. but I've got a lot of spaces to fill. Let me know if we can trade. I'll send you an e-mail. Martha |

Just sent you an email Martha... Drippy -happy to share. It blooms in the early fall here, so I'll have seed dried and packaged by Thanksgiving. |

| PV - I've got an easier idea. You can take a trip out here and bring home a hundred seedlings. It's only 1.5 hours with no traffic. I was just weeding in the bed picutred above and it DOES reseed prolifically! Drippy - I'll try to remember too. |

| It's lovely stuff and can colonize quickly, sometimes too quickly--it's other name is 'Jump Seed', sigh. But you can rip out the extras in a yank as it is shallowly rooted. Nice stuff, it will grow in dry shaded dirt and be content where it is, but give it cushy soil, moisture and food and it is a beautiful thug. |

| Does anyone know if this will grow in clay soil in the shade? I am trying to help my daughter, whose backyard is very shady and doesn't seem to have any topsoil. I have some persicaria, and I do like it. |

| Trudi put it best; it is a beautiful thug! Easy to eradicate if you are so inclined. |
