Collected seeds from perennial cornflower

They have tons of fuzzy chaff (sp?). I am not sure I will separate them out it is a big mess:). I see the little brown seeds though so I did it.

I plan to give/trade most of them away because I already have lots of blue/purple and need some other colors. Plus I thought it was a coneflower from a trade and it was a surprise ;)

I am happy I collected some new to me seeds.

Thanks for all the help everyone, reading your ideas and tips helped me collect seeds from my own flowers.

I assume you are referring to Echinacea if they are purple. I've never seen mature Echinacea seed heads contain fuzzy chaff or little brown seeds. Seeds should be a buff/ivory or beige color. Once you remove the outer spikes you are left with a head of seeds. I use tweezers to grab/pull them from the head.
Can't imagine you already have mature seed heads so early in zone 5?

Persian Cornflower is what I think she's referring to. Mine have gone to seed.
