 o
Identification please

Well, I am still planting out, but at least I'm now potting up my perennials to share with friends and plant in the proper places in the fall. This beautiful specimen was found in the container labelled Nasturtium Jewel mixed which are already blooming, so I don't know if it grew in the container since I planted them out. There is a smaller one also growing in the container which makes me think it may be something worthwhile. Any ideas?
Thank you.
Northerner.

At first glance it sure looks like mint. Does the leaf smell like mint?

Thanks, Bev, but it's not mint. The leaves are the wrong shade of green and the stem is not square. Guess I'll just let it overwinter in the container and see what emerges in the spring.

bev2009 - did you post the picture on the Name That Plant forum? I've heard those folks can identify things very quickly. Sorry I can't help identify it. Without my labels I'd really be up a creek. I was potting up blanket flower sprouts yesterday and found three tiny Siberian iris sprouts in the milk jug. I think all those seeds had themselves quite a party last winter under all that snow!!!
