| Has anyone grown Shasta daisy 'Broadway Lights?' I noticed some butter-yellow daisies growing in the median strip up the road from me earlier this summer and they were gorgeous. I just stopped there this afternoon and snagged some ripe seedheads but there's conflicting information on Daves_Garden about whether they'll come true from seed. They don't get as tall as the regular white Shasta daisies--only about 24" tall which works better for me than the taller white ones. Neither Hazzard's nor Swallowtail sell the seeds which may or may not mean they don't come true from seed.
Would appreciate any comments/observations. |

| I tried ws 'Broadway Lights' seeds in 2007 and had no germination. Since then I have propagated mine by taking cuttings and dividing. |

| I know my yellow Shasta 'Banana Cream' won't come true. I wouldn't trust harvested seeds. I'll be doing lots of dividing of my one Banana Cream to get more plants, as I don't want to pay for all those pots! Love that dividing thing. |

| I'm wondering if Gardenweed has electricity or in dealing with a flooded basement. Irene hit NJ, NY, Ct. pretty hard..all that flooding is pitiful. We didn't have any damage, highest winds was 72 mph. Rec'd a smidgen under 4 in. of rain and it was much needed. Never lost power but a lot of others in the area did. I'm sure Gardenweed will check in when she can. |

| Hi folks...I'm back after dealing with H. Irene. My rain gauges showed 5" fell before Irene moved north. Lost power 8:15 a.m. on Sunday and got it back sometime last night. I'm disappointed but not surprised the Broadway Lights seeds won't come true but doubt the guy who plants the median strip on his street would give a thumbs up to me dividing the plants. I'll either have to buy them or just admire them in bloom next year whenever I drive past. |
