What's not good or best for my area?

Been reading around, and it seems like kind of everything is good for wintersowing.

I live in a 5/6 zone.. Anything NOT good for wintersowing?

I have tons of empty milk jugs, soil to pot up with, and a right fine sheltered sunny southern exposure. My whole garden area is less sheltered, but in south sunny exposure.

So what's not good for my area? I know peas and some greens take off early here without any wintersowing.

On the flip side.. What is best for wintersowing in my conditions? Should I bother with tomatoes and peppers? Can I early start spinach and chard?

Sorry if this seems like a total newbie question. But there is so much information, I don't know what to do!

Thanks!
