Echinops

A friend gave me some seeds for a nice blue echinops.... Since I saw that it 'self-seeds", I am assuming it would be a great candidate for winter sowing... However, I'm going to try just putting a few seeds in my perennial garden NOW (Sept.) and see if that will be enough to get me an echinops seedling in the spring.

Anybody grow echinops from seeds? Their blue globes are so pretty and striking. Very architectural!

Any and all comments appreciated.
