 o
Calendula NOW?

I winter sowed some callendula and thought they weren't going to make the plant out. Today, I see robust plants with blooms. What gives? I'm not complaining, but I thought Callies bloomed much earlier.

What is YOUR experience?

whenever I've planted calendulas they always seem to bloom all summer. They kinda get tired when it's hot but seem to rebound when it gets cooler.

Mine bloom mid summer to frost and beyond. I hated them for a long time because I moved into a house where they were the dominant weed. At our current location, I noticed they were the only colour in the garden in late October/early November. The early bloomers get leggy if you don't cut them back. They will re-bloom in a week or so.

Mine bloomed earlier, then petered out - cut them back, and they are reblooming now.

Mine bloom into November if we don't get snow. They love shorter days and thrive on cooler weather. They reseed prolifically too.

They are blooming now like crazy. I'm in love.

Yes, over in the brug forum I posted a picture of one of my calendula. It's not a fancy named species but it is a Calendula and very lovely. :)
