| I usually get 3 to 5 seeds a year, but this year there are more seed pods. Has anyone tried growing camellias from seed?
I'm thinking I might winter sow some this year. |

| Ruth, sowing camellia is about the same as for rhododendron and azalea. The seeds need humidity, warmth, and are sown on a loose acidic medium like one containing peat or milled sphagnum moss then barely covered. That doesn't make them a prime candidate for winter sowing, but of course if you have seed to spare it wouldn't hurt to try if you keep your expectations low... | Thanks, after reading this I think I'll just trade the seeds like I usually do. |
