It's a good idea to be as specific as possible. For instance, I am in central Ohio, zone 6. It's important to point out that I am in CENTRAL Ohio as my growing conditions are different from those in Cleveland up north and Cincinnati down south.

Even in central Ohio there are microclimates within the metropolitan area. My conditions in Upper Arlington (northwest)are slightly different from the conditions, say, in Canal Winchester (southeast).

I think you get the best advice from those who can truly understand your weather and those who have similar conditions. Just a zone number does not tell the whole story. Ask those in zone 7 in OKC. It's a whole 'nuther ball of wax.
