Yes, I also use low tunnels made from painters tarp and pvc pipe. I grow in well watered pots or directly in the ground. It works great.

I have a cold frame I made years ago (20) ill have to dig out of the misc. pile and use it for some of my winter sowing (can drink so much milk...lol) It is a heavy s.o.b made of PT wood so still in good shape. Once out and up and running i will have to post some pictures.

This will be my first year of WS in containers but I've direct sown spinach and the like in my cold frames for years, providing my family with fresh salads and greens from December on.

Has anyone started winter sowing their cold frame? I am trying this for the first time this year (so far with just hardy perennials) and would like to hear about your strategies/progress. Thanks in advance!
