Hi all,
I took some seed heads of my neighbor's Mexican Sunflower -
and I'm not sure what part is the seed.
In the seed head there are a lot of flat, oblong things about 1/4 inch long.
Then I come across some tiny black things.
I'm hoping the long oblong things are the seed packet cuz I got a lot more of those.
Ellenr, if you want some commercial seeds let me know.
I only used 3 seeds out of entire Tithonia 'Torch' packet.
Since deer and groundhogs pulled plants down from 24" container with 36" of additional rabbit fencing on top I won't be growing them again.
Kills me because they were a hit with bumble bees and Tiger Swallowtails. By the time animals had moved on to other plants and Tithonia bloomed it was too late for Monarchs & Black Swallowtails last year.
Email me with your address if you want some insurance and I'll send them to you. :)
Ellen, there's a great pic on - you know, that competing garden site which GardenWeb now BLOCKS!, the name of which you can't even mention. I can't link to it, but if you search their FILES you will find it. Apparently a little competition is a little too much. Guess you get sent to Disneyland for mentioning the name.
I tried to email you privately and give you the link but your email is blocked, too.
