If you get no snow/rain, you probably will need to water the pots lightly at some point. If you feel the need to water, do it on a day when the temps warm up to the 40s, and resist the temptation to saturate them. I sometimes put ice cubes in the pot; when the temps get warm enough to melt the ice, they will provide a decent winter watering.

I have a 'pot ghetto' of many types of plants...small trees, roses,herbs, etc. I just leave them alone until spring and they do fine. One thing I do is surround them with bagged leaves just to insulate the pots a bit.
