Difference between winter sowings?

Has anyone noticed any difference between the germination of seeds sown near Winter Soltice and into January and those sown a little later in Feb? I mean, just generally. Seems last year I had better luck with seeds sown a bit later, like early to mid February but that may have been just a fluke. I was wondering what others' experience was and if you think it could make a difference.

You certainly can expect different results simply because of the climate warms as we approach Spring. However, depending upon the plant variety you've sown, you will get better or worse results. Some plants require much stratification and some don't need any.
