A. Joy Sedum- seeds?

My AJ is just starting to turn brown; while I personally don't need the seeds because I have plenty of stalks to make more, I thought I'd save them in case anyone else wanted them. What should I be looking for, and are they in the flower head?
I don't think I've ever SEEN sedum seed. Thanks.

sedum seed is tiny tiny. It makes butterfly bush seed look gigantic.

I think I collected some. Not sure. I did what others here told me to do.
Cut the dried flowers (carefully) turn it upside down over a bowl or baggie or something.
The seeds are barely bigger than dust.

Thanks for posting the question. I went out and cut some of the heads of the different Sedums that I have outside. I did not seperate them according to type the next cuttings I will bag them according to type in case someone wants some.

Tina, i checked mine, by turning a head over and tapping it slightly over my hand. At first I didnt see anything, then upon close inspection, I seen small red/brown dust size spots. Barely noticeable. I am going to do the same thing with mine. Save the seed in case I need it for a trade. This summer I was even able to root single leaves from these things, they are so easy.

That is what mine looked like too. Reddish brown dust. Last winter I sowed dust looking stuff that Token sent to me and it did grow some pretty pink flowering sedum. So I think we got it right. yeah!

BUGS!
Ok, so it rained, and I figured I'd just clip of several flower heads of AJ, and stick them in a paper bag for a few days to dry out, then shake out the seeds.
*Clip*
*Bag*
Set bag in foyer.
1/2 hour later, I see my cat over there just being nosy about what's in the bag, so I tip it up to show her (before she decides to get IN the bag), and I see hundreds of these itty-bitty bugs crawling on the sides of the bag. Ick. Like little mini-fleas, but easily squishable. But I don't need HUNDREDS of them in my house!

For the record, I also had something like this happen a couple years ago when some "thing" of tiny, worm-like bugs got all over my ceiling and were suspended by one end of themselves up there. Bunches of them that day, too. That was nasty.
This seed-collecting business can be icky.

I'm passing on the AJ seeds for now.

TIna, I just picked some heads on a dry day, and tapped them over a white tissue, then folded up the tissue and stuck in an envelope.
