I just moved to a new home and my garden is no more. I didn't realized how heartbroken I was about no longer having a garden until someone told me today about their garden and the things they had. Before I could remember, I said that I would put them on my trade list. I have to start completely over. This new house doesn't have any landscaping at all (weeds don't count). I miss my daylilys, elephant ears, gaillardia, etc., etc. I need help starting over. I don't have seeds for any trades, but I can so sasbe. I can also do a few of the small postal boxes. I think the least amount for those is between $8-$10. PLEASSSSSE HELLLLPPPP!

I'm so sorry to hear this. I started over again too. In 2002 left my house where I had it really nice. I've lived here for 8 years and hardly buy anything. People will give you stuff. Before you know it w=you will be giving it away. I know how it is though, you always want that special plant back, for me it was Lady's Mantel and Bleeding heart. I will definately try to help you out, I always have stuff to give away. Micki

If you post a "wants" list here or on your member page, I'm sure you'll be able to make great headway on restocking your seed stores. The folks on this forum can't resist a chance to enable a fellow gardener. We just need some guidance from you so we know what to send. Martha

I moved last year and left behind my first garden, a true labor of love. Like yours, our new place had zero landscaping. I was blue for most of the summer and fall, until I got my new garden underway last fall/winter with free Craigslist plants and wintersowing. Ta da! My new garden is young, but filling in quickly and last year's WS perennials will bloom this spring. Take heart, you'll get there! Good luck!

How are things so far? Winter Sowers are the most generous gardeners around. I'm glad Aquawise is going to help you, she's a nice person, she sent me seeds right away. Good luck and let us know how you are doing. It's that time of year, and I've gotten blue too, but sowing always lifts my spirits. I will probably have extra seeds that i can send you, I'll have to wait and see though, this is my first year. Just wanted to share my concern and support. I hope you are feeling better today, and the days to come. Take Care, we're on the other side of winter now, the days are starting to get shorter and there will be more sunshine. I'm sorry you couldn't bring any of your plants with you. Most of my stuff I've gotten for free. I walk around the neighborhood and ask for cuttings. About 4 years ago I asked this women who had an awesome flower bed which was in bad shape (weeds galore) if I could work just for plants. She hired me right on the spot and I got anything I wanted. We're still good friends. It will get better. Let me know, keep in touch. Email me. Micki |

I moved this year too and building a new garden it seems on a old parking lot of crushed concrete. So the started to take wheel barrows of top soil to the parking lot and fenced it in to keep all the animals out of my garden. Will be winter sowing many things this year with at least a fenced in garden to start with. Tons of top soil need to be moved and just level some of the areas and raised flower beds is so on my to do list this year. ML
