Countdown~ Seven days to go!

Woke up to snow this morning, we've got at least an inch on the ground. Don't have to do any shoveling as I expect much of it will melt by this afternoon. Do have to drag the snow-melt out of the garage and sprinkle some around the sidewalk. So much fun last night watching the puppy experience her 'first snow'. Pure joy.

Today I'll be packing some perennials, but I'm also ready to go through the seeds and see what I want to WS. I want to sow something in memory of Lizzy who was such a great dog and wonderful companion--she loved Tiny Tim tomatoes and would steal the winter squash to munch on when I wasn't looking.

We got about 3" of snow yesterday. Temps in the single digits (3° when I got up today). We're supposed to hit a balmy 29 tomorrow with snow, sleet, freezing rain, and ice on top of what's on the ground. Need I tell you how much I hate winter? Just thinking of driving to and from work raises my blood pressure.

Last night it dropped to 9, brrrrrrr!! No snow, but tomorrow is suppose to be up to 33 and we are suppose to get that same wintry mix. Our luck it will be ice, just solid ice!! As long as it isn't as bad as it was 2 years ago then I am ok with it. Some people were without power for several months cause the ice storm was that bad.

I went & ventured out in the bitter cold to buy my paint pens. I just bought black, then I came home & got to thinking... I should have bought colored ones as well to mark my tags/plastic forks. I could write the name of the flower in black but then I could add a colored dot to tell if it's a perennial (pink or purple dot), annual (no dot)or reseeding annual(red dot).

I like to organize.... can you tell? LOL

Reminds me I need to dig through my attic or go to my parents and see if I can find an old set of broken blinds.

You ever picture something in your head and you know it is somewhere but you just can't seem to remember where you saw it?? Lol anywho I figured that would be a good supply of plant tags!!

I got my list all completed and researched and I even added a couple!! LOL

Sounds like fun with the new addition to the family Trudi!!

You'll have to take photos of snow to post and remind me of what it looks like. Today we were at 15C (60F) and were getting hit by another 'weather bomb' with high winds and over 120mm (5 inches) of rain. We had a similar system go through last Monday/Tuesday. Amazing how the Gulf Stream can affect our weather to the point that you folks south of us are getting more winter-like conditions than we are.

Still can't really get into the winter sowing feeling - maybe a few flakes would do the trick? :O)

60 degrees!?! Are you kidding me??? That's just not fair when southern Ohio is in the single digits, and with snow too. I'm coming to Nova Scotia! Do you have an extra bed Nicole?

Then she said she was still in canada, I was like crap, I am moving. LOL
