| I see Trudi has a long list of vegetables that can be winter sown in the FAQ. I seem to remember that Trudi is in zone 7 Long Island. So is the list according to what will winter over and germinate in zone 7?
I would love to winter sow veggies and have containers of seedlings ready to go when it was time to start planting, but I wonder if I will get lower germination rates and if early spring crops, like beets, spinach, peas, etc. will be better off being direct sown? The brassicas seem to need to be transplant size in April and will I get that by winter sowing them, or will they be just germinating? I have experience with tomatoes and pepper seeds, but that's about it. Any experiences with winter sowing vegetables in zone 6 or lower would be very helpful...thanks. Ann |

| You may have already found this. Though on wintersown.org Trudi has divided germination records up per zone. It has several veggies on it. Some have when they were some and some just have that they did successfully germinate. I hope that helps some!! |
