Lost My Record Book

mnwsgal

My notebook with all my records for the last six years has disappeared. I think it may have fallen off my desk into the recycling sack which was taken out by my DH. While I have some records on my computer I don't have the whole of the notebook copied. I know I will do okay without them but I am feeling a little ill at ease/anxious/bereft.

Records - sowing, germination records? Or records of whole household importance....

I understand, and I hate something lost. I was beside myself frustrated a couple of weeks ago looking for the box of things I save year to year to decorate an outdoor holiday wreath.

But look at it this way, when was the last time you needed it (if your sowing and seed records), and in the whole scheme of life, how important is it really :) I hope you feel better soon. I'm not even going to say I hope it turns up, just put it out of your mind.

Oh, nothing so drastic as household records. These were my ws records. Surprisingly, I referred to them often, probably a couple of times a week, either to answer questions for myself or for someone else.

Certainly this is not terrible, just disconcerting, that something is missing feeling, because, well, it is missing. Not everyone will understand but those keeping records will know what I mean. It's part of that conversation about gardening that only another gardener/record keeper will get, the rest will think I'm nuts.

I've given up actively looking for the notebook and will start a new one for the solstice celebration.

Thanks for your wishes. I wanted to share, maybe needed to have someone commiserate, say, "There, there", .

mnwsgal, I cant imagine loosing my seed journal and it only has a years worth of data. When frost hit I put mine away on a bookshelf thinking I'd not need it for awhile. Funny how many times I refer to it though. Its back sitting beside the laptop where I can reach it easily.

I think you chose a fitting word: bereft.

Maybe santa will bring you a new one that you can fill with many years of data, memories and love :)
