Spring fever!

We have been buried in snow for several weeks. Of course the streets have been clear but grassy areas were buried in 6" or more of snow. We all had mountains of snow along driveways where shoveled snow had been tossed. Day time highs ran mostly in the 20s with lows in the single digits and teens.

Yesterday we hit 52 degrees and snow started melting fast. It's currently 63 degrees and my living room window is open for fresh air. The snow in my yard is gone at last. So glad to see grass again.

I have spring fever. Haven't done a damned thing all day :-)
I think I'll go out on the porch again and have another pop.

Karen

Hi Karen - it's too early for spring fever! You'll never get the winter sowing done at this rate. (;-p)

Sunny and 44 here (north central CT) so a lot of the snow we got in last weekend's blizzard is melting. My driveway pavement is about 3/4 bare again. Tomorrow is supposed to be a repeat of today so maybe I'll even get some firewood trucked inside for the woodstove. I hauled bale #2 of growers mix inside so it can thaw altho' I don't think it was really frozen. I bought it back in August and it's been inside the garage ever since.

WS jugs are beginning to line both sides of the breezeway. It sure feels good knowing what I'm doing this time!

Enjoy your mild temps & your pop!

Well, son of a B. I just went out to take a walkabout in my yard, check my flower beds, and it started raining on me. But, you know, that happens in spring...

I'll be back whining about the cold Monday when the high is 33. But even that is waaayyy better than what we've been getting recently.

I almost went to the garden just to rake some old leaves. It was really nice. Unfortunately, I had to prepare for a party tonight. Still, I was able to make a trip to composters and walk along my flower beds to check how they are doing. Spring fever, endeed. Tomorrow, back to normal - twenties and time to start WSowing!

The snow's still too deep for me to go walkabout my garden but it was nice stepping outside to set my WS jugs down in the snow and not be bundled up like Nanuk of the North. I'm enjoying the winter sowing this year. It's less frantic knowing what I'm doing and having a plan: sow things that need cold strat first, followed by everything else, then the tender annuals.

I placed my seed orders with Diane's and Hazzard's today, the latter to take advantage of their year-end free shipping. Check out the California poppies I ordered:

I too went for a walk around the yard! My snow is gone. I have about 15 planters on my deck that I can now see with the snow gone & if I had more time I was gonna go throw some seeds in them & cover them with plastic but never got to it before kiddos wanted dinner. :( Maybe on Sunday. Christmas with my Mom & 4 sisters tomorrow. the LAST of my 4 Christmas's. LOL (my parents are divorced & so are hubby's so we get to celebrate Christmas 4 times-5 really counting Christmas Day itself!!)

Those poppies are beautiful!!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Lol, Jodie. I used to go to six Christmases! Two days before christmas at my step dad's mother. Christmas eve lunch with mom and her family, followed by Christmas eve dinner at my dad with his mother. Christmas day lunch at my dad's dad, christmas day dinner at my dad's wife's parents, followed by christmas at night at dad's then back home to mom.

This Christmas my dad and sister drove down and had dinner with my brother and I. My sister was the only one that got presents. Ha.
