2012 Burpee Seeds On Sale

I stopped at the job lots store on the way home this afternoon and smack in the middle of all the holiday stock, first week of December, was the big, double-wide Burpee seed rack with 2012 annual, perennial & vegetable seeds all marked 40% off. I bought candytuft, lavender & Ipswich Pinks dianthus. Both the sale sign and seed packs say packed for 2012--seed packs are stamped with the date.

Hats off to Burpee & the job lots store--seeds make great stocking stuffers!

LOL--I saw them in the flyer and rushed out on Saturday morning. I got bunching onions, cosmos and dianthus!

Any chance the sale includes seeds for the coneflower Warm Skies? If so, would some one pick me up a packet and I'll pay you for it and shipping.

RE: 2012 Burpee Seeds On Sale!

Ha duane! Absolutely...and proud of it!!! Just one of MANY that lurk around here!! (;-p)

kimka - from what I saw all they had were the standard, ordinary perennials and altho' purple coneflower is one of them, they didn't have more than a handful of specific cultivars of any perennials. Since it's on my way home from work, next time I swing by when I think of something I absolutely have to have from there, I'll double check & let you know. Did you check any of the seed websites? I'm ordering from Hazzard's on New Year's Eve to take advantage of their free shipping. If they have it and you want me to order it let me know.

BTW - I'm game and I'm curious. What color flower is Warm Skies?

RE: 2012 Burpee Seeds On Sale

Burpee's website listed it as exceptional coneflowers first year from seed in a wide variety of warm colors from rose to coral to yellow. The interesting thing is that I went back to the website this morning and suddenly the listing was blank for price although it was still in my on line shopping cart.

I wanted those seeds and their new Christmas basil. But Burpee wanted $4.95 to ship two seed packets. I don't mind paying a reasonable fee for handling and processing, but that's over the top.
