Brittie - La Porte, TX 9aUpdated CP for me was a dense, rounded 5x5, with the main canes almost two inches thick. So it can definitely get pretty big if the conditions are right. My plant came from Heirloom, so was ownroot.

countrygirl_sc, Upstate SC(7a)Updated sharon, it is good if you have the heel, but not neccessary. You cannot always get a heel on the cutting. Ivan's cutting is similar to what I use. I would just cut a little closer to the bud eye and scar the bud eye before dip...

irisgal_z9Updated I was convinced from all I read it would be the perfect climber. Not. Flowers were light pink until noon? First rose I've deliberately removed. Since then I pay attention only to "rose praise" here on the forum.

Patty W. zone 5a IllinoisUpdated The fertilizer that hurts them the most are chemical ferts. They don't like salts and high nitrogen. I would add fish fertilizer to the soil. Personally prefer not spraying on leaves.
