Already sprayed for Deer! and dissapointed hardiness issues...

Last year crocus rose came through with flying colors, tons more snow though but 10 degrees colder at -17, this year only got to around -7 ever once or twice. But no snow cover.. Crocus Rose, Belle Doria, Vicks Caprice all got hit hard.

I still think Pickering should owe me for another belle doria, they sent me a 3 inch runt of a plant, it was disgustingly small last year.. never set right and hasnt taken off, lost whole canes on this one.

Ive sprayed my leafing rose with a garlic/hot suace mix already.. Im not taking any chances this year.. going to spray spray spray until I get some blooms! They really nipped everything last year.

That's too bad. We also had minimal snow cover here but my Crocus Rose was hardy nearly to the tips. I would like to try Vicks Caprice, Celeste said it does well.

Yeah, those runts never seem to catch up no matter how many years we wait. I think our growing season is too short, and then their growth is clipped back every winter. I should have known better, but I accepted the smaller size (runt) of Pretty Jessica in my rose order this year because that's all Pickering had. Planted yesterday with high hopes that it will grow strong and fast, but they never do for me.
