I spotted this, amongst others, at a butterfly world. Kids go there for the butterflies, I go for the plants...
Any ideas?

Might try get a cutting next time ;)

Its beautiful, reminds me of a bird of paradise but the flower isnt the same.

I was thinking it was similar to Beloperone but not sure.

Wow thanks Flora. There's lots of plants Im not familiar with there, Id love to show em all but this is a house plant forum.

If you're after ID's, Name that plant is the place to go. If it's in a pot, it's fair game for discussion here, IMHO. There's also a tropical forum, although 8/9 doesn't really fit that category for outdoor plants... in which case they'd be appropriate to discuss on the perennial forum.

Larry, be sure to ask for a cutting...no swiping! If you ask, you might just end up with all kinds of cuttings! If you're caught snitching, you might get a dirty look or even asked to leave.

That's a beautiful plant! I hope that you'll post pictures of the others somewhere! I'd love to see them. Did you get any shots of butterflies?

Rhizo, next time I will ask about the plants and maybe get a cutting or two.
And yes I got loads of butterfly pics, so did my daughter.
