I dont think a garbage disposal is safe for food consumption.

We use this at home for making juice.

It works very well, and really dries out the apple flesh.

I think the garbage disposal is pretty safe since most are out of stainless steel.
Don Yellman is using it for years.

You have to jury rig a garbage disposal to work as a juicer. Juicers can be picked up for cheap and are engineered to do the job right out of the box.

the hamilton beach one works nicely, but it lies when it says "whole fruit" you have to cut in half, sometimes quaters if a larger apple

I used cheap skill saw blades most common on the market,...think 7 1/4" diameter.
