| Because the Garden Web link to the Special Instructions for the Exchange is malfunctioning, they are posted in bold below. Additionally, there are links at the bottom of this post to other threads that might be of help to someone new to The Seed Exchange. If anyone has any questions, feel free to post them to this thread, or else to start a new thread on the (Off-Topic) Conversations Side of The Seed Exchange.
Special Instructions for Exchanges:
* The exchanges were created to facilitate the arranging of trades of plants and seeds between members. Please do not use them to solicit donations, ask for free plants or seeds, or ask for items in exchange for postage. All requests must be in the context of arranging a trade. If you have nothing to offer at this time, please wait until you do.
* All exchanges are restricted to users from a particular country, region or state. If it isn't indicated otherwise, the exchange is restricted to residents of the U.S. To find an exchange for your location, check the exchange index. * Each post must have a type of trade, subject and a message.
* Trading is done at user's discretion. Garden Web has no control or responsibility over trades arranged here. Keep in mind some traders may let you down, so it might be wise to keep your initial trade with someone limited to smaller items.
* Messages addressed to or meant for particular users should be sent via email and are not allowed in the exchanges.
* If you have trouble with another person coming through with their end of a trade, you must deal with it privately. It is the consensus of the forum users that this type of thing be kept out of our forums. Any public accusation in this forum, or elsewhere at GardenWeb, will result in the accuser being banned.
* To avoid problems when shipping across borders and some state lines, it is best to ship plants bare-rooted and to label the container as such. It is up to the users involved to determine what is legal and what is not. * This forum is for the purpose of exchanging material, there should be no need to mention money in any postings. If money is mentioned, the posting will be considered an advertisement and the poster will be banned. * Trading of patented material is unlawful and is strictly forbidden. ###################################################################### ############### Newbies,

| If a trade has gone badly is it okay to post that person's address in the rate and review section so that other people don't fall in the same trap? There seems to be a few bad apples in the barrel. I've read where you shouldn't post the other person's real name but couldn't find anything about addresses. |

| If a trade has gone badly is it okay to post that person's address in the rate and review section so that other people don't fall in the same trap? No, I don't think that would be all right as I have seen reviews deleted that had too much information. I do however think that it would be fine to say something like Jane D in Chicago IL, would be generic enough that it wouldn't get deleted but would be good info for others to have. |
| When EXACTLY did chemocurl officially take over GW. I thought the first paragraph of the OP pretty well explained why I made the post...maybe I should have added something like, "I am posting the instructions because I am the resident busy body, and thought they 'might' be helpful to new/newer members as well as to some older members." Please note that the Instructions are posted exactly as GW has them worded. Might you or anyone know of a better way to keep the Special Instructions for the Exchange accessible to members since GW doesn't seem to be able to get the actual links working? Sue never took over GW Cryptid and always-beezee are 'resident bumpers', a type of busy body. I'm just sayin... |

You have gone above and beyond in answering questions and helping newbies and others. The same can be said for Fran. Both of you are awesome! jim_6b |

| Those of you with uteruses,...please do not avoid pap smears and other cancer detecting procedures. My wife was recently diagnosed with uterine cancer and it's scaring the living crud out of me. Tomorrow she's having a CT scan (drinking barium tonight) and soon she'll be having a histerectomy(sp?) up north of here at a specialised center in Eugene (Oregon--we live in southern Oregon). So then I'll be here, alone, with our 27-yr-old autistic-retarded son for 3 or 4 daze (-- hopefully no more) till Elly returns and I can spoil the livin' heck out of her even more than I am now! Thing is,...I love Elly sooooo much (married 30 yrs)!! -- I have never been so scared in my life!! While I realize I have to be as positive as I can, and as strong as I can be,...actually, it's all quite hard. Harder than I thought. - No one ever said life would be easy. I'm a believer. |
|
| cryptid, I'm so sorry to hear of Elly's diagnosis. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. I wish her a complete and speedy recovery. I am a cancer survivor. If you care to, feel free to email me. Sue |
|
| Bumpin' it up to the top! And sorry to hear about the cancer scare but have faith, you and she will be in our thoughts and prayers! :) Stay Strong! ~Tina Marie |

| You are on the next page up. |
|
| Hi all! Elly's home (finally)!! It's been a week (mostly waiting around. Best news is, with her hysterectomy, everything came out in *one piece* and the cancer hadn't penetrated to the uterine wall! Otherwise, she's moving really slowly, with a cane, for now, because naturally she's quite sore where her *procedure* was done. Still, she's supposed get up and walk around periodically, and of course *nature* will call, like it or not (which, in Elly's case, is actually a *good* thing, though, really) Also, for about a month or so, she'll be self-injecting anti-coagulant med, and of course taking pain medication. Dunno `bout hormone replacement or anything like that yet. - All in all, the main thing is my son and I, and our big ol' brown tabby cat-thing, Klingon, are just ever so SUPER DANG HAPPY to have her back home again!!! You better believe I'm gonna spoil the holy freaking heck out of her! Anytime,...day and/or night! :) ALL the time!! Oh,...LOL,...and Elly brought me back a *present* from a REALLY BIG Goodwill store up there;..."Container Gardening for Dummies". She also got our son a big ol' bag full of smallish stuffed animals, which of course he adores,...his new *babies*! - Thank you all! Prayers and directed positive energy totally work,...totally rock! :) |

| Thank *you*, in particular, Sue, uber muchly! Thank's big time, also, Tina! Elly had her staples taken out today, and her pathology returned that she was cancer free!!! "WOO HOOOO!!!" - Although she's still pretty sore, she refuses to fall back to using pain pills. Yup,...Elly's *definitely* a toughie. That's why I have to keep insisting she adhere's to the proscribed parameters of extremely limited pushing, pulling and (especially) lifting. I'm just glad to have her home again *soooo much* I can't tell ya...!!! :) |
